Jalapeño Beer Cheese Bread

The first time I fell in love with the combination of jalapeño and cheese was in my hometown where I would enjoy a jalapeño and cheese bagel at a local cafe. Throughout the years, I will buy bagels or bread of this variety whenever I come across it. So of course one day I decided to take a stab at making my own and that’s when this jalapeño beer cheese bread recipe was born.

Recently, my husband suggested we buy this Oster Bread Machine so that we no longer have to buy bread products. It is healthier and saves us money! Can I just say how delicious this bread is? And any bread for that matter when you use a bread machine. You do not have to be a seasoned chef by any means! This bread is so easy to make! Just throw in the ingredients and the bread machine does all the work for you! Toast a slice and add butter for a nice breakfast or use a couple slices to make a sandwich. Yum!

The beer adds some great flavor and makes the bread fluffy and delicious! I used IPA to get that nice hoppy flavor, but any type of beer will work.

Jalapeño Beer Cheese Bread

What you need: (makes a 1.5 pound loaf)

1 cup beer (I used IPA for a nice, hoppy flavor)
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 egg
1 tablespoon sugar (I used honey instead)
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup chopped jalapeños
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons yeast

Directions:

Put all of the wet ingredients into the bread pan. Add the dry ingredients to the bread pan (do not mix wet with dry). Make a well (hole) in the flour using your finger making sure not to touch the liquid. Pour the yeast into the well hole.

Use the “Basic” bread setting on the Oster Bread Machine. Select 1.5 lbs. and then choose your crust color of choice (I like dark). This amazing bread machine includes many bread and dough recipes making it easy to make your first loaves of bread!

Enjoy 🙂
