Non-toxic nail polish does exist! If you haven’t heard this already, I’m telling you now. Nail polish contains several carcinogenic and toxic ingredients that can disrupt your hormones. Sadly, most nail polishes out there contain formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, and formaldehyde resin, all of which has been shown to have toxic effects on the body.
You can learn more about each of those ingredients or search for your favorite nail polish brand using the EWG skin deep database. It gives you a rating on how toxic the product is. It even tells you which ingredients are toxic and what the effects are.
If you want my honest opinion, I think all nail polish is bad to some degree, whether. I try not to wear nail polish at all, as the non-toxic versions are still not 100% natural or free of dyes. But sometimes you just need to have your nails done, whether it is for an event or wedding.
When you apply nail polish, it gets absorbed into your skin and bloodstream, which is something most people are unaware of. And that isn’t just for nail polish, but any product you put on your body – lotion, sunscreen, perfume, toothpaste, etc.
So what do I use when I need to use nail polish? ZOYA – They are FREE of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, and formaldehyde resin. I also love the colors they offer and they always give me a long-lasting manicure or pedicure.
Best of all, you can buy Zoya products on Amazon!
This color, called Ali, is my favorite!! It is more of a matte color, but you can easily apply the Zoya top coat to give it a glossy look!
These kits are great too!
