I always have Borax in my house. I actually buy it in bulk and not only do I use it to make homemade laundry detergent for super cheap, but there are many other ways in which I use Borax. Other uses for Borax include:
1. Add 1/2 cup of borax to every gallon of water for steam cleaning carpets or in carpet cleaning machines
2. Add 1 cup of borax around your trees (less for small trees) every few years to promote growth and development
3. Use it in your toilet bowl as a toilet bowl cleaner
4. Sprinkle on carpets to kill flees (also check out how you can use borax to kill roaches)
5. Sprinkle it around mice territory to deter mice
6. DIY goo gone
7. Use it to clean cookware and fine china
8. Mix with water to clean inside of your fridge, oven and microwave
9. To clean showers and tubs, tile and grout
10. Mix with 1 tablespoon lemon juice to remove rust
11. Clean your sinks using 1 cup borax mixed with 1/2 cup lemon juice
12. Pour a few tablespoon in your cat litter to help deodorize
13. Pour some down your garbage disposable
14. To unclog drains, pour 1/2 cup borax and boiling water down the drain
15. Clean your mattress but rubbing borax with a damp rag, let it dry then vacuum
16. Sprinkle some on the bottom of your trashcans and diaper pails to deodorize
17. Use it as a weed killer
18. Mix with water to kill mold
19. Clean outdoor furniture
20. And of course, to boost your laundry or to remove hard water in your dishwasher
