Build you own acai bowl this summer for a healthy and tasty treat! Acai bowls are one of my favorite summer time snacks! For some, it even makes a satisfying meal.
There are so many benefits to acai and the berry, tarty taste is so good! Whether you like your acai in a smoothie or a bowl, this recipe can be used either way to make a refreshing acai treat anytime.
Build Your Own Acai Bowl
- First, you will need acai packets. You can find these at Costco or even Trader Joe’s. Usually they need to be a little thawed so that they can be blended.
- Blend your acai pack with coconut water, milk/dairy free alternative or juice. It shouldn’t be too runny, but nice and thick like a smoothie.
- Add this to a bowl.
- Next, build your own acai bowl by adding your toppings. You can use fresh or frozen fruit, coconut shavings, granola, honey, chocolate chips, cocoa nibs, you name it!
- My favorites are: granola, coconut shavings, fresh sliced banana, fresh blueberries, chocolate chips topped with a swirl of honey. Talk about YUM!
