DIY wine bottle vases are a cheap and easy craft idea. It makes a simple home decor centerpiece or vase for flowers.
The possibilities are endless. Paint them or not. Add twine, glue, glitter, embellishments or ribbon. Keep it simple or make it unique. It really is up to you. Kids really enjoy this project if you’re looking for a fun idea for gifts for grandparents.
I use mine as flower vases for a few stems of fake flowers.
DIY Wine Bottle Vases
First, you will need to remove the label. I did this by filling the sink with super hot water with 1/3 cup baking soda and 2 cups white vinegar. I made sure the bottle sank underneath the water. I let it soak for 1 hour. Most of the label should peel right off, but you can scrape the remaining off with a sponge or scraper.

Next, use glass paint to paint the bottle once dried. I bought the Martha Stewart brand glass paint from Michael’s. You may need to do a few coats to make it completely opaque. Once dried, you can hot glue other decor if you’d like- rhinestones, glass, beads, shells, etc. Add flowers or leave as is for a nice decor piece in your home. This is also a great gift idea!
