DIY Holiday Gifts

Every year I make homemade gifts for the holidays! Sometimes I buy gifts too, but my family and friends go crazy over my homemade sugar scrubs. Every year I try to do something different to mix it up, so here are some DIY holiday gift ideas.

DIY Holiday Gifts

1. Winter Body Scrub (8 oz)
Here is my recipe for simple and irresistible sugar scrub…just combine equal parts sugar and carrier oil (my favorite is expeller pressed coconut oil which is coconut oil without the coconut scent) and then add 10 drops of essential oils. For the holidays, I love peppermint, eucalyptus, or rosemary and Citrus Fresh (a blend of citrus and spearmint essential oils). Stir and add to an 8 oz mason jar. Decorate it with a simple piece of ribbon and a gift tag or go all out by painting it, adding red glitter, etc.

2. Winter Spray (2 oz)
Fill an empty 2 oz spray bottle with 1 teaspoon of witch hazel. Add 10 drops of essential oils. I love Thieves (a proprietary blend of cinnamon, clove, lemon, rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils) but some other great choices are Christmas Spirit (a blend of orange, cinnamon and spruce essential oils), peppermint, cinnamon and orange, clove and lemon, or whatever your favorite holiday essential oils are! Top off with distilled water and shake before each use. Use on linens, carpets, or as an air freshener.

3. Holiday Bath Salts (4 oz)
Combine equal parts epsom salt and kosher salt (or use all epsom salt). Add 10-20 drops of essential oils. My favorites are PanAway (a blend of wintergreen, helichrysum, clove and peppermint essential oils) or Stress Away (an essential oil blend of copaiba, lime, cedarwood, vanilla, ocotea and lavender). Stir and add to a mason jar.
