Natural Remedies That Really Work

All natural remedies have been around for thousands of years. At one point, that’s all there ever was. Although modern medicine is great in certain situations sometimes the good old fashioned ways work the best – the all natural remedies that really work!

I prefer all natural remedies that really work and help me get better than over the counter medicines that mask symptoms temporarily and do not shorter the severity or duration. I know natural remedies aren’t for everyone, but the certainly work for me.

This post is all about what I actually use whenever I need some immune support. Whether I have a cold, seasonal allergies, the flu or just feeling run down, these natural remedies work for me every time.

I try to avoid synthetic medicines at all costs – literally. These natural remedies can save you money, especially if you have a high deductible to meet for your prescription medications or have to take over the counter medicines.

Have you read up on all of the side effects of over the counter and prescription medications? Sometimes they do more harm than good. Not only are these all natural remedies great for the body, but they actually work!

Over the counter medicines just mask symptoms temporarily, whereas natural remedies actually make you get better, faster! Whenever I am sick, my symptoms are minimal and I am usually 100% better within 2 days!!

Here are all natural remedies that really work for my family:

Elderberry Syrup

As soon as I start feeling like I am getting sick, I drink 10ml of this elderberry syrup twice daily. I first heard about elderberry syrup as recommended by my kids’ pediatrician. She says it’s more effective at treating the flu than Tamiflu.

And if you may be wondering, my kids drink it too! I half the dosage for them. This brand is the most potent Elderberry Extract of them all packing a whopping 3.8g (3,800 milligrams of elderberry extract) and is the best bang for your buck. Hurry up and order before the next flu season and before they run out of stock!

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

I take “shots” of this organic apple cider vinegar throughout the day. You can also mix it with water or in a smoothie if you can’t handle the strong taste. Getting it with the vinegar mother means more prebiotics, phytochemical compounds, iron and vitamin B so you can stay healthy!

Essential Oils

Essential oils are great for supporting the body. My go to for immune support is Thieves! I love to rub it on the bottoms of our feet with a carrier oil a few times a day during cold and flu season, or whenever we feel like we are fighting something off.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

There is something about chicken noodle soup that helps fight off a cold. It is also the perfect meal when you do not have much of an appetite.
