Benefits of Diffusing Essential Oils

I love diffusing essential oils! There are so many amazing benefits that will amaze you.

Diffusing safely releases essential oils into the air to eliminate odors and support the body. The diffuser breaks down the essential oils into millions of microparticles that get dispersed into the air. Cool, huh? I diffuse every single day and in every single room in my home, including my kids’ rooms.

Did you know that the air inside of our homes contain 2-5 times more contaminants than the air outside?!? And 75% of American homes use synthetic air fresheners that contain numerous amount of chemical agents that have been linked to cancer (like formaldehyde).

When you see the term “fragrance” remember that it can include up to 300 toxic chemicals even if it only says “fragrance” on the label. Instead, diffuse all natural essential oils.

Here are 20 amazing benefits to diffusing essential oils:

  1. Helps alleviate occasional nervous irritability.
  2. To refresh the body and mind.
  3. Promotes emotional well-being.
  4. Alleviates the occasional blue feeling that everyone experiences from time to time.
  5. Encourages proper nasal function.
  6. Provides nervous system support during times of stress.
  7. Promotes restful sleep.
  8. For occasional sleeplessness.
  9. For mild mood changes.
  10. Occasional nervous tension.
  11. For nervousness due to common, everyday overwork and fatigue.
  12. Promotes a relaxed feeling.
  13. Calming and relaxing.
  14. Gently soothes away tension.
  15. To resolve irritability that ruins your day.
  16. Helps you work relaxed.
  17. To freshen the air.
  18. For a peaceful aroma.
  19. To promote normal mood.
  20. Supports the body systems – limbic system, respiratory system, etc.

In order to get the full benefits of diffusing essential oils, it is important to use high quality essential oils. Start by doing your research and finding what is right for you.

Things to look for are what grade of oils they are (perfume, cosmetic, therapeutic grade), if they are for topical or aromatherapy use only, whether or not the company owns their own farms or whether they get their oils from third party distributors or farms, how the oils are distilled and whether or not chemical solvents are used, whether or not the plants are grown organically or not, etc.

After a lot of research and having bad experiences with store-bought essential oils, I discovered Young Living essential oils. Young Living is the only company to own their own farms and be involved of the production of their oils from start to finish (what they call their “seed to seal” promise).

They grow their plants organically, so no pesticides or chemicals are used during the production of their oils. They use first distillation only, which preserves the components of the oils. They are also tested 3 times over by in house and 3rd party testing to ensure they are pure and potent and contain no chemicals in any amount.

I just LOVE how Young Living’s lavender essential oil puts me right to sleep, their proprietary Thieves essential oil blend cleanses the air in my home and just smells so wonderful, and their Gentle Baby blend just has a way of calming myself and my kids when I need it most. I have yet to find Thieves or Gentle Baby in a store!
